Seminis SVHA 2222 chilli hybrid

SVHA 2222 is a Bayer-Seminis F1 hybrid hot pepper marketed in India as a high-pungency, dual-purpose green / red chilli with an early picking window. Pods turn glossy red on drying, supporting both fresh-market and dry-pod sales.

Cultivation

The short fruit-set window is well suited to dual fresh-pick and dry-pod systems.

SVHA 2222 is exposed to the standard chilli stress complex of leaf curl virus (Disease Chilli Leaf Curl Virus), black thrips (Pest Thrips Parvispinus Black Thrips), yellow and broad mite (Pest Mites Chilli) and fruit anthracnose (Disease Chilli Dieback Anthracnose).

Adoption and use

The hybrid is supplied in 10 g / 1500-seed packets and is widely traded through Indian agri-input dealers and aggregator portals (BigHaat, DesiKheti). It competes in the green / dual-purpose hybrid segment alongside Mahi 7422 (Chilli Mahi 7422) and Red Hot 2090 (Chilli Sakata Red Hot 2090).
