Nativo (Tebuconazole + Trifloxystrobin)
Bayer Nativo 75 WG is a systemic triazole-strobilurin fungicide pre-mix widely used in Indian groundnut, paddy and vegetable production. It is one of the standard rotational partners for the Cabrio Top (metiram + pyraclostrobin) chemistry.
Composition / Active ingredient
- Composition: Tebuconazole 50% + Trifloxystrobin 25% WG
- Chemical classes: Triazole (DMI) + Strobilurin (QoI)
- Manufacturer: Bayer Crop Science
Mode of action
The two actives complement each other:
- Tebuconazole inhibits C14-α-demethylase (CYP51) in fungal sterol biosynthesis, disrupting ergosterol production and membrane integrity. FRAC group 3 (DMI).
- Trifloxystrobin blocks mitochondrial complex III electron transport at the Qo site, halting ATP production. FRAC group 11 (QoI).
The mix is preventive, curative and locally systemic, with good rainfastness.
Target use and dose
Standard groundnut dose is 100 g/acre against tikka leaf spot (Cercospora arachidicola, C. personata) and rust (Puccinia arachidis) — used as an alternative to Cabrio Top at 700 g/acre for pod fungal diseases. Other CIBRC uses include rice (sheath blight, blast, glume discoloration), vegetables (early and late blight, powdery mildew, anthracnose) and orchards.
Safety and regulatory status
QoI resistance has been documented in several pathogens worldwide; rotation with non-QoI fungicides — Mancozeb Carbendazim Saaf, Zineb Hexaconazole Avtar, Input Copper Oxychloride — preserves efficacy. Triazoles have a moderate operator toxicity profile; pre-harvest interval and re-entry intervals on the label must be observed.
