Tebuconazole + trifloxystrobin (Nativo 75 WG)

Bayer Nativo 75 WG is a systemic triazole + strobilurin pre-mix combining tebuconazole 50% and trifloxystrobin 25%. It is broadly used across paddy, vegetables and orchards in India for foliar and panicle disease management.

Composition / Active ingredient

  • Composition: Tebuconazole 50% + Trifloxystrobin 25% WG
  • Chemical classes: Triazole (DMI) + Methoxyiminoacetate strobilurin (QoI)
  • Manufacturer: Bayer Crop Science

Mode of action

The mix delivers two unrelated systemic modes:

  • Tebuconazole inhibits C14-α-demethylase (CYP51) in fungal sterol biosynthesis, disrupting ergosterol production and membrane integrity. FRAC group 3 (DMI).
  • Trifloxystrobin blocks mitochondrial complex III electron transport at the Qo site, halting ATP production. FRAC group 11 (QoI).

The two modes give protective, curative and translaminar activity, with reduced resistance pressure because each spray exposes the pathogen to two different sites.

Target use and dose

Standard dose is 100 g/acre in 200 L water. CIBRC-labelled uses:

  • Paddy: sheath blight (Rhizoctonia solani), blast (Magnaporthe oryzae), glume discoloration
  • Vegetables: powdery mildew, rust, anthracnose, leaf spot
  • Groundnut: tikka leaf spot, rust (alternative to Cabrio Top)
  • Orchards: apple scab, mango anthracnose, grape downy mildew

Safety and regulatory status

Strobilurin resistance is widely documented; rotate Nativo with non-QoI fungicides (Mancozeb Carbendazim Saaf, Zineb Hexaconazole Avtar, Input Copper Oxychloride). Triazoles have moderate operator toxicity; pre-harvest intervals and re-entry intervals on the label must be observed.
