Ajeet 155 BG-II is a Bollgard-II Bt cotton hybrid from Ajeet Seeds Pvt. Ltd., Aurangabad, Maharashtra. It is among the most widely planted private hybrids in the central cotton zone — Maharashtra (Vidarbha, Marathwada, Khandesh), Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat — and is positioned as a medium-duration, dual-condition hybrid for both rainfed and irrigated cultivation.

Plant population per acre is typically 6,500-7,500. Topping (Cotton Topping Pinching) at 90-100 cm height helps prevent excessive vegetative growth on irrigated tracts.

Pest profile

The Bollgard-II stack controls the American bollworm and Spodoptera but is no longer protective against pink bollworm (Pink Bollworm) due to field-evolved resistance. Integrated management including timely sowing, pheromone-trap monitoring and refuge planting is essential. The hybrid is moderately susceptible to the sucking-pest complex (Sucking Pest Complex Cotton) — jassid, thrips and whitefly — and requires seed treatment (imidacloprid 70% WS @ 5 g/kg seed) and early-season foliar management.

Ajeet 155 is reported by Ajeet Seeds as among its top-three hybrids by volume. Field reports note good staple uniformity and reliable boll-bursting, simplifying hand-picking. The 150-170-day duration places it in a comfortable window for double-cropping with rabi pulses or wheat (Cotton Double Cropping Systems) on irrigated tracts.
