Syngenta HPH 5531 chilli hybrid
HPH 5531 is a Syngenta F1 chilli hybrid in the Kaddi-Byadgi colour segment, marketed for heavy and black-cotton soils. Syngenta positions it as a 'flexible' hybrid suited to both long and short-duration kharif/rabi seasons and to both green and dry-pod markets, with early and uniform setting.

Pest and disease profile
Like other Byadgi-segment hybrids (Chilli Byadgi Segment), HPH 5531 must be protected against the south Indian chilli stress complex of black thrips (Pest Thrips Parvispinus Black Thrips), yellow and broad mite (Pest Mites Chilli), leaf curl virus (Disease Chilli Leaf Curl Virus) and fruit anthracnose (Disease Chilli Dieback Anthracnose).
Adoption and use
HPH 5531 complements Syngenta's higher-colour, lower-pungency HPH 2043 (Chilli Syngenta Hph 2043) by offering medium pungency in the same colour segment, broadening the company's positioning across green-pick and dry-pod markets. It is sold through Syngenta's distribution network and aggregator portals such as DesiKheti.
