Ampligo
Ampligo is a Syngenta insecticide pre-mix combining chlorantraniliprole 9.3% and lambda-cyhalothrin 4.6% as a zinc-complex (ZC) suspension. It pairs the long residual control of a diamide with the fast knockdown of a pyrethroid in a single product.
Composition / Active ingredient
- Composition: Chlorantraniliprole 9.3% + Lambda-cyhalothrin 4.6% ZC
- Active ingredients: Anthranilic diamide + Type-II pyrethroid
Mode of action
Two complementary modes operate together:
- Chlorantraniliprole activates insect ryanodine receptors, causing uncontrolled calcium release in muscle cells (IRAC Group 28).
- Lambda-cyhalothrin modulates the voltage-gated sodium channel of nerve cells, producing rapid paralysis (IRAC Group 3A).
The combination delivers immediate knockdown plus extended residual activity, and uses two unrelated modes for resistance management.
Target use and dose
Ampligo controls Lepidopteran pests including Helicoverpa armigera (fruit and pod borer), Spodoptera (armyworm), paddy stem borer and leaf folder across cotton, vegetables and pulses. In groundnut foliar sprays it is used at 80-100 ml/acre for caterpillar control, and is one of the standard options alongside Coragen Chlorantraniliprole and Emamectin Benzoate in bean caterpillar/borer programmes.
Safety and regulatory status
The pyrethroid component is toxic to fish and bees; standard label intervals around flowering and water bodies apply. To preserve the diamide chemistry, Ampligo should not be used in consecutive sprays with other Group 28 products such as Coragen Chlorantraniliprole or Cyantraniliprole Benevia.
