Gromor Fitsol Grade-1 and Grade-2 fertigation

Gromor Fitsol is the Coromandel International water-soluble NPK fertigation range, sold in 1 kg and 5 kg packs for drip and sprinkler application. The range carries two grades formulated for different crop growth stages and is notified under the FCO water-soluble fertiliser schedule.

Composition

The Fitsol range carries balanced NPK with declared micronutrients in fully water-soluble form. Grade-1 is positioned for the vegetative phase, with a higher N share to drive canopy build-up; Grade-2 is positioned for the reproductive phase, with higher K and a proportionally lower N share to support flowering, fruit set and fruit fill. Both grades are formulated to dissolve completely without residue and are compatible with most drip-line emitters.

Mode of action

Water-soluble fertilisers applied through irrigation deliver nutrients directly to the active root zone, dissolved in the soil solution where they are immediately available to roots. Compared with broadcast granular fertiliser, fertigation typically achieves higher nutrient-use efficiency (often 70-90% vs 30-50%) by avoiding broadcast losses and matching nutrient supply to crop demand. The technique is standard practice in protected cultivation and high-value horticulture.

Target use and dose

Typical drip dose is 1.5-2.5 g per litre of irrigation water depending on crop and stage, with the choice of grade matched to the phenological window:

  • Grade-1: vegetative growth and tillering/branching stages
  • Grade-2: flowering, fruit set and grain/fruit fill stages

Used on banana, capsicum, tomato, brinjal, chilli, cotton, sugarcane and high-density orchards. TNAU and ICAR-IIHR fertigation manuals give crop-specific schedules.

Safety and regulatory status

Notified under the FCO water-soluble fertiliser schedule. Storage requires dry, cool conditions; partially used packs must be re-sealed to prevent caking from moisture absorption.
