Kadiri-6 (K-6) groundnut

Kadiri-6 (K-6) is a Spanish-bunch groundnut variety bred at RARS Kadiri, ANGRAU, with 95-105 days duration and 1800-2400 kg/ha pod yield. It is tolerant to leaf spot and prized for grain colour, fetching premium prices in local markets.

Adoption and use

K-6 is one of the major varieties for which ANGRAU produces breeder seed alongside Kadiri Lepakshi, Dharani, Narayani, Kadiri Harithandhra, Kadiri Amaravati and K-9. The variety is widely adopted in Anantapur, YSR Kadapa and Chittoor districts of Andhra Pradesh.
