Gromor Bhoo Aushadh organic potash

Gromor Bhoo Aushadh is the Coromandel International branded organic potash product, marketed in India as a chloride-free, soil-health-friendly alternative to granular Muriate Of Potash (MOP, KCl). It is a granular fertiliser carrying potassium together with secondary nutrients in a single product.

Composition

  • Primary nutrient: approximately 14.5% K2O
  • Secondary nutrients: calcium, magnesium and sulphur
  • Form: granular, free-flowing
  • Source: organic potash matrix (sugar-industry co-products and other biological sources)
  • Regulatory status: FCO mixture-fertiliser notified

The K2O density is much lower than that of MOP (60%), so larger physical quantities are required to deliver the same potassium dose; the trade-off is the absence of chloride and the inclusion of secondary nutrients in the same granule.

Mode of action

The granule disintegrates slowly in moist soil and releases potassium, calcium, magnesium and sulphur over the growing season. The slow release pattern provides more sustained K supply than the rapid dissolution of MOP, while the chloride-free composition makes the product suitable for chloride-sensitive crops where MOP cannot be used. The included Ca-Mg-S package addresses simultaneous secondary-nutrient deficiency on intensively cropped soils.

Target use and dose

Positioned for sugarcane, banana, fruit crops and vegetables, particularly where chloride sensitivity, soil-health concerns or simultaneous Ca-Mg-S needs justify the choice over straight MOP. Doses are set by crop K demand at the product's actual K concentration; for sugarcane this typically translates to two to three side-dressing applications across the crop cycle.

Safety and regulatory status

FCO-notified mixture fertiliser. Storage in dry conditions preserves granule integrity. As a categorically lower-density K product, transport and field-application costs per unit K are higher than for MOP, which limits adoption for low-margin field crops.
