Hand Garden Tools (Wolf-Garten Multi-Star System)
Wolf-Garten is a German manufacturer of modular garden hand tools sold in India through dealers including Jai Hind Kishan Agro, KisanShop, ToolBuy and Amazon.in. Its signature Multi-Star modular system is widely used in kitchen gardens, polyhouses, nurseries and high-value horticulture plots.
Function
The Multi-Star system replaces single-piece hoes, rakes, weeders, cultivators and bulb planters with interchangeable aluminium-bodied tool heads that snap onto a shared handle. The same operator therefore needs only one or two handles and a tray of compact heads, reducing both cost and storage volume.
Design and specifications
The standard handle is the ZM-AD-85 aluminium D-handle, available in short (kitchen-garden) and long telescopic configurations. Heads are made of aluminium for weight reduction; cutting edges are hardened steel. The catalogue covers Dutch hoes, weeding hoes, push-pull weeders, fan rakes, soil rakes, bulb planters and small cultivators.
Operation
The user clips the desired head onto the handle through a quick-release locking pin, performs the task, and swaps to the next head as needed. The aluminium build reduces fatigue compared with traditional steel hand tools, which makes the system attractive for elderly cultivators and for nursery work.
Subsidy and adoption
Hand tools are not typically tracked under SMAM in the same way as power machinery, but state horticulture missions occasionally include modular hand-tool kits in beneficiary packages, particularly for nursery and women-farmer-empowerment programmes. Indian retail is via Flipkart, Amazon.in, KisanShop and physical farm-input dealers.
