తేజా-segment మిర్చి (S-17 type)
తేజా (trade లో S-17 లేదా 'Super 17') అన్నది సన్నని కాయ, ముదురు ఎరుపు, ఎక్కువ ఘాటు ఉన్న మిర్చి segment. తెలంగాణ, ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ ఎండుమిర్చి ఉత్పత్తికి ఇదే ఆధారం. ప్రధాన భారతీయ export-grade మిర్చి రకాల్లో ఒకటి. Stemless, with-stem రెండు రూపాల్లో trade అవుతుంది. చాలా ప్రైవేటు F1 హైబ్రిడ్లకు తల్లి మొక్కగా వాడతారు.

దక్షిణ భారత మిర్చి బెల్ట్ అంతటా తేజా ను విస్తృతంగా పండిస్తారు, ముఖ్యంగా తెలంగాణ, ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ black-cotton నేలల్లో. Standard package-of-practice దశలు — నర్సరీ (Practice Chilli Nursery Raising), NPK, micronutrient నిర్వహణ (Practice Chilli Fertilizer Schedule), IPM స్ప్రే calendar (Practice Chilli Spray Schedule) — పాటిస్తారు.
పురుగు, తెగుళ్ళు
ఈ segment invasive నల్ల త్రిప్స్ (Pest Thrips Parvispinus Black Thrips), yellow mite (Pest Mites Chilli), chilli leaf curl virus (Disease Chilli Leaf Curl Virus), fruit anthracnose (Disease Chilli Dieback Anthracnose) కు sensitive.
వాడకం
తేజా ను గుంటూరు, వరంగల్ మండిల ద్వారా బంగ్లాదేశ్, చైనా, థాయ్లాండ్, శ్రీలంక, మిడిల్ ఈస్ట్ కు ఎగుమతి చేస్తారు. Spices Board of India దీన్ని ప్రత్యేక trade segment గా గుర్తిస్తుంది. BASF US 341 (Chilli Basf Us 341) వంటి అనేక ప్రైవేటు '341-segment' హైబ్రిడ్లకు genetic baseline ఇదే. కోత తర్వాత ఎక్కువగా తాడ్పాల్ (tarpaulin), yard లపై ఎండబెడతారు (Practice Chilli Picking Drying). Export-grade కు 9-10% తేమ అవసరం.
