భారత table-grape ఉత్పత్తిలో అత్యంత ఆర్థికంగా ముఖ్యమైన plant growth regulator (PGR) gibberellic acid (GA3). Thompson Seedless (Grapes Thompson Seedless), దాని mutants వంటి seedless varieties కు GA3 ను మూడు వేర్వేరు stages లో spray చేస్తారు; మూడు వేర్వేరు physiological jobs: cluster (rachis) elongation, berry thinning, berry sizing. Principle

Developing seed వాటి natural source — అది abort అయ్యే seedless berries కు సహజంగా endogenous gibberellins ఉండవు. Exogenous GA3 missing seed signal ను replace చేస్తుంది; rachis, pedicel లో cell elongation ను, berry లో cell expansion ను నడిపిస్తుంది. Timing critical: చాలా ముందుగా అయితే phytotoxic damage; చాలా ఆలస్యంగా అయితే response రాదు.

Procedure (Thompson Seedless schedule)

ICAR-NRCG recommended stage-wise spray schedule:

  • Pre-bloom elongation spray (10-15 cm rachis stage, సుమారు 5-10% cap fall): GA3 10-15 ppm whole-cluster dip లేదా directed spray; rachis, pedicel ను elongate; loose well-shouldered bunches; hand thinning అవసరం తగ్గుతుంది.
  • Berry thinning spray (3-4 mm berry, full bloom / fruit set వెంటనే తర్వాత): GA3 30-40 ppm cluster dip; pedicel collapse ద్వారా అదనపు weak berries ను abort; cluster కు 90-120 well-spaced berries leave అవుతాయి.
  • Berry sizing sprays (6-8 mm, 12-15 mm berry): GA3 40-50 ppm cluster dip; export grade standard చేరడానికి berry diameter ను 18-22 mm కు expand.

GA3 spraying Nashik, Sangli, Solapur, Pune, Satara, ఉత్తర కర్ణాటక బెల్టుల్లోని అన్ని export-grade seedless cultivars కు standard. Anab-e-Shahi వంటి seeded cultivars GA3 sizing కు బాగా respond అవ్వవు; berry shatter చూపవచ్చు; elongation కు మాత్రమే తక్కువ doses వాడతారు.

పరిమితులు

  • Phytotoxicity: high GA3 doses leaf surface మీద పడితే leaf curling, shoot crinkling.
  • Variety sensitivity: Thompson Seedless clones, mutants వేర్వేరుగా respond అవుతాయి; రైతులు block-by-block doses ను calibrate చేస్తారు.
  • Residue / MRL: GA3 self తక్కువ residues లో most importers అనుమతిస్తారు; కానీ accompanying CCC, copper sprays కు strict limits; రైతులు EU MRL (Grapes Export Residue Mrl Europe) regime ను respect చేస్తూ ప్రతి spray ను GrapeNet (Grapenet Apeda Traceability) లో record చేయాలి.
