పంత్ లెమన్-1 (ఉత్తరాఖండ్ నిమ్మ)
Pant Lemon-1 — Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT), పంత్నగర్, ఉత్తరాఖండ్ release చేసిన true-lemon cultivar (Citrus limon). చిన్న ఆకుపచ్చ Kagzi acid lime (Citrus Lemon Kagzi Lime Rajasthan) — Citrus aurantiifolia — కంటే భిన్నం. Pant Lemon-1 — పసుపు తొక్క, పెద్ద పండ్లతో true lemon; ఉత్తరాఖండ్లోని తరై-భాబర్ foothill belt, పశ్చిమ UP మైదానాలు, హిమాచల్ ప్రదేశ్ foothills కు బాగా suited. భారత climate కు poorly adapted అయిన పాత Eureka, Lisbon lemons కు alternative గా — ఉత్తర భారత commercial plantings కు hardy, productive lemon ఇవ్వడానికి release చేశారు.
ముఖ్య లక్షణాలు
- శాస్త్రీయ నామం: Citrus limon (నిమ్మ).
- చెట్టు: medium-vigour, spreading, moderately thorny; 3-4 ఏళ్లకు commercial bearing.
- పండు: medium (70-100 g), oval నుండి oblong, apex వద్ద చిన్న nipple తో; పక్వానికి వచ్చేటప్పుడు pale-yellow smooth తొక్క; juicy గుజ్జు — 6-7% ఆమ్లత్వం; few గింజలు (4-8).
- Bahar: తరై belt లో సంవత్సరానికి రెండు నుండి మూడు సార్లు పూస్తుంది; ambia bahar (జనవరి-ఫిబ్రవరి) crop dominant; harvest మే-జూలై వరకు extend.
- దిగుబడి: full bearing వద్ద చెట్టుకు 60-90 kg; 5 m x 5 m spacing వద్ద 12-16 t/ha.
సాగు
Pant Lemon-1 propagation — rough lemon (Rough Lemon Jamberi Rootstock), Rangpur lime (Rangpur Lime Rootstock) rootstocks పై T-budding ద్వారా; smallholder plantings కోసం air layering ద్వారా. తరై-భాబర్ foothill belt లో conventional spacing 5 m x 5 m (400 చెట్లు/ha). GBPUAT సిఫార్సు — ambia irrigation cycle తో mature చెట్టుకు 600 g N + 300 g P + 600 g K, రెండు splits లో. తరై belt rainfall 1200-1500 mm; fruit set, sizing జరిగే dry మార్చి-మే window లో supplementary basin లేదా drip irrigation అవసరం. Pant Lemon-1 — పశ్చిమ UP (సహారన్పూర్, బిజ్నోర్), హిమాచల్ ప్రదేశ్ foothills (ఉనా, సోలన్) లో smaller scale లో grow చేస్తారు; పంజాబ్లో Eureka కు replacement గా trial చేస్తున్నారు.

Citrus canker (Citrus Canker Xanthomonas) — most damaging తెగులు; true lemons highly susceptible; Pant Lemon-1 — Kagzi acid lime మాదిరిగానే pre-monsoon copper oxychloride, streptocycline spray cycle అందుకుంటుంది. Citrus tristeza virus (Citrus Tristeza Virus India) tolerance — rootstock పై depend; తరై climate కు variety rough lemon పై acceptable, కానీ CTV-endemic సైట్లపై Rangpur lime preferred. Citrus greening (Citrus Greening Hlb Candidatus) ఉంది, పెరుగుతోంది. Lemon butterfly (Papilio demoleus), Asian citrus psylla (Citrus Psylla Diaphorina Citri), citrus leaf miner, orchard mites — ముఖ్య insect pests.

Pant Lemon-1 — ఉత్తర భారతదేశంలో, National Capital Region లో off-season yellow-lemon market కు supply — post-monsoon period లో Kagzi acid lime supply tighten అయ్యే సమయంలో. సహారన్పూర్, హల్ద్వాని, రుద్రపూర్ wholesale మండీల ద్వారా fruit move అవుతుంది. Bottled lemon juice, lemon-honey RTS, dehydrated lemon slices లోకి processing — పంత్నగర్, రుద్రపూర్, హల్ద్వానిలోని cottage, SME units లో. ఇతర GBPUAT, ICAR releases — Pant Lemon-2, Pant Lemon-3, Pant Kagzi Kalan — తరై-భాబర్ belt కోసం lemon, lime portfolio ను పూర్తి చేస్తాయి.
