ద్రాక్ష ఏప్రిల్/సెప్టెంబర్ double-cycle pruning

మహారాష్ట్ర, ఉత్తర కర్ణాటక, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ table-grape రైతులు వాడే double-pruning calendar: కొత్త fruiting wood ను build చేసే ఏప్రిల్ foundation (back) pruning + matured canes ను marketable పంటగా మార్చే సెప్టెంబర్-అక్టోబర్ fruit (forward) pruning. ఈ entry ప్రతి step వెనుక bud-level decisions, physiology ను cover చేస్తుంది. Principle

భారత ద్రాక్ష బెల్టులు sub-tropical; temperate viticulture లో single annual harvest కు దారి తీసే cold dormancy ఇక్కడ లేదు. అందువల్ల ఒక vine పై రైతులు రెండు వేర్వేరు seasons ను force చేస్తారు: ఏప్రిల్ pruning తర్వాత hot vegetative season — ఈ సమయంలో cane dormant buds లో fruitful primordia ను lay down చేస్తుంది; సెప్టెంబర్ pruning తర్వాత cool reproductive season — ఈ buds break అయ్యి flower, fruit అవుతాయి. Cane పై bud position ముఖ్యం: Thompson Seedless (Grapes Thompson Seedless) లో 4వ-12వ node మధ్య fruitful buds concentrate అవుతాయి; ఇదే pruning length ను నిర్దేశిస్తుంది.

అమలు

  • ఏప్రిల్ back (foundation) pruning: canes ను ఒక-రెండు buds కు cut; whole-vine bud load set; uniform budbreak కోసం dormancy break చేయడానికి hydrogen cyanamide (Dormex) painting ఆ తర్వాత.
  • ఏప్రిల్-ఆగస్టు foundation phase: కొత్త shoots trellis పై position; ప్రతి arm కు ఒక-రెండు strong canes retain; 6-8 leaf stage లో అనవసర shoots తీసివేస్తారు; canes ను harden చేయడానికి growth regulators (CCC) వాడవచ్చు; fertigation vegetative growth ను push చేస్తుంది.
  • ఆగస్టు water-stress / hardening: canes hardening, buds లో fruitful primordia set కోసం సుమారు మూడు వారాలు irrigation తగ్గిస్తారు.
  • సెప్టెంబర్-అక్టోబర్ forward (fruit) pruning: cane diameter, node fruitfulness ఆధారంగా matured canes ను 8-12 fruiting buds leave చేసి cut; మళ్ళీ Dormex painting; 25-30 రోజుల తర్వాత flowering.
  • అక్టోబర్-మార్చి fruiting phase: shoot positioning, clusters చుట్టూ leaf removal, GA3 sprays (Grapes Ga3 Thinning Elongation), bunch thinning, veraison దగ్గర deficit irrigation, కోత.

ఎక్కడ వర్తిస్తుంది

Nashik, Sangli, Solapur, Pune, Satara, Bijapur బెల్టుల్లో Thompson Seedless, దాని mutants కు ఇది standard protocol. Anab-e-Shahi (Grapes Anab E Shahi) వంటి seeded pandal cultivars కు single annual pruning ఎక్కువగా.

పరిమితులు

Double-cycle labour, input intensive. Bud necrosis, poor cane maturity, రెండు prunings లో దేనిలో అయినా అకాల వర్షం, తప్పుడు bud load calculation — ఇవేవీ అయినా దిగుబడిని తీవ్రంగా తగ్గించగలవు. Fruit pruning length నిర్ణయించే ముందు plant-by-plant cane diameter assessment ను ICAR-NRCG emphasise చేస్తుంది.
