సాగు

Red Delicious ను seedling crabapple లేదా clonal MM-106 / MM-111 / M-9 / M-26 rootstock (apple rootstocks) మీద tongue grafting ద్వారా propagate చేస్తారు. ఇది self-unfruitful — Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Red Gold, Tydeman's Early లేదా crab apple వంటి polleniser రకం 1:8 నుండి 1:10 ratio లో తప్పనిసరి. Standard తోటలు 6 x 6 m spacing; ఆధునిక HDP blocks M-9 trellis మీద 1.5 x 3.5 m (HDP). HRRS మశోబ్రా సిఫార్సు — winter pruning తో crossing branches, water sprouts తీసివేయడం, summer light-management pruning. Cut surfaces మీద Bordeaux paint వాడితే canker రాదు.

పురుగు, తెగుళ్ళు

Red Delicious apple scab (Venturia inaequalis), Marssonina leaf blotch, premature leaf fall, powdery mildew కు చాలా susceptible. పురుగుల వైపు codling moth, San Jose scale, woolly apple aphid, root borers, mites ప్రధాన సమస్యలు. Fruit cracking, bitter pit (calcium లోపం), water-core, cork spot ముఖ్యమైన physiological disorders. Red Delicious ను తాజా table apple గానూ, long-term cold-storage staple గానూ అమ్ముతారు. Regular cold storage లో గుజ్జు మెత్తపడుతుంది కాబట్టి, జనవరి తర్వాత అమ్మే fruit ను CA storage కు move చేస్తారు — 1 °C వద్ద 2-3% O₂ + 1-2% CO₂ లో marketable life 7-9 నెలలు. దాదాపు ఏకరీతి deep red రంగు కారణంగా Azadpur మండీ లో premium grading వస్తుంది. ఇప్పుడు శీతాకాలంలో Iranian, Washington-state imports తో Indian Red Delicious పోటీ; HP రైతులు ధరలు maintain చేయడానికి Royal Delicious bud sports, Super Chief, Scarlet Spur II వంటి Italian colour strains తో replanting మొదలుపెట్టారు.
